Welcome to Malaysia!

As some of you know, Nabilah and I had the pleasure to welcome a French intern who arrived in KL yesterday. Most of our colleagues were out at a training event. So, we were given the responsibillity to help him settle down at his apartment and give him a few tips about living in our beautiful country. :D

He speaks just like an American! At first, we were worried that we might not be able to understand him because he may have a strong accent. Thank God, when he started speaking, we could totally understand him. I had to apologize for welcoming him in my SLK (which stands for 'small little Kancil', for some of you blur people).

When we arrived at his studio apartment, he was very satisfied with the place and how classy the furniture was. Thanks to Nabilah who found the landlord! :D Anyway, after he settled down with his luggage and stuff, we walked over to Carrefour and Subang Parade to show him where to get groceries, household items and other daily needs. The first thing he bought was a cup of Starbucks. He told us he has never had one in France although there are plenty of Starbucks chains there. O.O Wow... the first thing he has in Malaysia, Starbucks. LOL

After getting him a Malaysian phone number, we walked over to Subang Parade. And guess what? It's true when they say that the world is small. He met his friend from middle-school outside Subang Parade! XD We totally didn't expect that. The both of them  looked so surprised to see each other. What a place to bump into each other, coming half-way around the world and meeting someone all the way from their small hometown, in Subang Jaya. LOL!

So, his friend joined us as we brought them around the mall. We were kinda jakun when we heard them speaking in French. The thing is, both of them don't have a French accent at all. One sounds like an American, and the other spoke like a pure Australian because he studied in Sydney. French + American + Australian. Now, let's make them Malaysian! Nabilah and I taught him how to say 'apa khabar', 'terima kasih' and also how to use 'lah'. XD I hope he'll catch it soon!

We have only a week left at the office. I hope before we leave, we'll be able to get him to speak at least a liiiitle like a Malaysian. Nothing is impossible! :D

Oh! Another thing, we're done with the intern's handbook! LOL But it still isn't the final copy. It has to be checked once more and then we'll be able to credit ourselves in the book. LOL! Printing the book was a bit of a hassle, but thank God we managed to finish everything just before our new friend arrived yesterday.

That's all about my week. 'Til next week before I start college again (I really can't wait!), God bless!

More dose of K-Pop?

Wah... R&B version. Lyn was good!

Bonjour!

Today's gonna be an interesting day at work! :D

Au revoir!

Toys and props.

Nabilah and I had another project today. We had to do the inventory for all the stuff stored behind. All the stationeries, toys and props were pretty messed up because there wasn't a proper record of the things used. So we had to do a new inventory of everything and rearrange all the items we have.

We cleared out most of the shelves.

There were so many things, we didn't know where to start counting. But we finally started counting some stuff that they had to use for a training event this week. We played with rubber ducks and toy frogs! :D

Nabs was throwing the ducks back into the basket while she counted, one missed the basket and it squeaked! We couldn't stop laughing when we heard that because it sounded like the duck squeaked because it fell off. LOL!

And my Froggies, see this! :D

We were tired. So, we decided to entertain ourselves!

You can hear the mechanism is a little spoiled. It made some funny noises. That's why we were laughing. LOL

And I can't wait for this Friday! We might have to go pick a guy up from the airport. He's our company's new intern from FRANCE. :D

Another looong week.

This week at work wasn't as crazy as the last. I was happy that we got a day off on Monday. I had enough time to finish up one of the tasks my boss gave, which was to research on Malaysian conglomerates. I found hundreds of Malaysian companies, and now I pretty much know which company falls under which conglomerate's big umbrella. (But don't test me!)

Besides that, Nabilah and I finished our first draft for the handbook that we are supposed to write. I came up with some points, and Nabs elaborated most of it. LOL I told you she's good at that. We have quite a bit more to go before we submit it at the end of this week. Can anyone spare me some ideas on graphics and suitable layouts for handbooks/manuals?

I was having a bad headache after lunch at the office on Friday and I couldn't do much. After packing up some stuff for a training event next week, I sat in front of the computer and did some minor research. I was so tired and my eyes were really strained. I don't know why I've been having headaches quite often lately. Maybe it's because of the late nights. I quickly said a short prayer and asked God to help me endure the day. Boy, was those six hours LONG. O.O I was worried that I may not be able to make it for Impact at night. But I believe that my headache will be gone as soon as I set foot out of my house to go to church.

True enough, it worked! Thank You, Jesus. I enjoyed the night at Impact, pain-free. :D The Leadership Team introduced a new programme called EXP (Experience) to encourage participation among the youths within their Cell Groups. We made a short video a couple of days before. Although it was a simple video, the minor details of it were hilarious! Our lack of acting skills actually worked. LOL

EXP is basically a mini system we created for the youths to collect points for their CGs. At the end of the term or year, the CG with the highest accumulated points will win Gold Class movie tickets and also a fine dining experience with the Leadership Team! :D I'm so excited. Especially about the fine dining, be it dining as the winning CG or SERVING the winners, I don't mind either one. Hehehe... But of course, I'll have to work hard together with my Froggies to win this. LOL

I hope that the Impact youths are excited about this new programe, because we are really expecting a great change in our youths through this. I pray that we will be able to achieve our goal and that the results might even exceed our expectations. :D But we can't do this without the Lord's help. So, I pray that the Lord's presence will be with us through the year as we start something new in Impact. I also pray that this year will be THE year for Impact.

And... another exciting thing will be happening. A two-time Grammy nominee will be visiting our church during our Sunday service next week!

He's a talent pianist and composer, and he's played famous worship songs as well. Can't wait to hear his testimony!

And before I forget, all the best to all my ACCA friends for your results tomorrow! Especially to Ee Leen, Pei Yi and Nicholas. ^^ All the best! You guys have worked hard, and I believe the Lord will bless you with what you deserve.

Remember... I'm predicting a meal from you guys! :P

Why did I fall in love with you?

Another good performance in Japan. 'Why did I fall in love with you?' and 'Mirotic'. Love it!

I'll blog about my week later tonight.

God bless!

Dumb moment.

Yesterday, Nabilah showed me this website with a picture of King Tut's statue. They reconstructed his face. I was wondering how they did it. So I asked Nabs. She told me they referred to his mummy.

And... for a moment (just ONE moment!), I actually thought she meant his mother. O.O

No! My brain's not functioning properly nowadays. Help!!!

Nabs and Qiki couldn't stop laughing about this. GREAT.

Here's a picture of my new friend.

Sometimes, it's not just about doing things we like.

My week at work was ... loooong.

We didn't have training workshops this week. So, after a week's off during the Chinese New Year, lots of paper work had to be done when we got back.

I got kinda frustrated in the middle of the week because I had to help them start a new filing system. I really don't like doing administration work, especially filing. :S Because I don't think I'm a very organized person myself. Lots of paper work weren't exactly labelled. So, I got really confused looking at the company information, invoices, proposals, acceptance letters and whatnot. Thank God I managed to get everything done. My colleague said that I'm an effecient worker. :P Thank you Jesus for clearing my mind and helping through that!

After Nabilah and I were kinda done with the whole week's worth of paper work (O.O), we were assigned two projects to complete before we leave. These two projects are really interesting. It's finally something that both of us can work on together and actually has something to do with what we're studying!

First, we have to come up with a handbook/manual for future interns applying to the company. There are lots of tasks and responsibilities for interns in the company. Every time, our colleagues have to repeat the same thing to every intern who applies. It gets really tiring for them. So, they want us to write some guidelines to help them out in the future.

Poor interns. They're gonna have to suffer reading our long-winded sentences. xD (It's okay, Nabs. You don't have to control yourself this time. Hahaha!). They leave the whole content and design up to us. This is gonna be fun!

Our next assignment is to call up different companies to promote our company's product, Miniworkshopseries. I'm not really good at talking to strangers, especially over the phone. And I would probably get tongue-tied. So our colleague, Amanda, suggested Nabs to do the talking, and I to record the information. Hmmm... I wonder who we're gonna be calling. I hope big companies! :D

That's all about my week at work. Will blog more about our projects next week!

Asia's Princess.

It's BoA's English song. She's breaking into the United States now after succeeding in Korea and having multiple million album sales in Japan for her Japanese albums. Her dance moves in this video are ... WHOA.

Can't believe she debuted when she was 13! O.O

Taekwondo.

Poor Micky! But this is funny. XD

Want more Noop-dog?

Audition

She Will Be Loved

I love his acapella group! And no one would expect this so-called nerdy guy to be able to sing like that.

All the best to Anoop! :)
